Moving Out

I am a procrastinator. I won't lie. By blogging, I'm procrastinating completing my homework ;) Anyways I put off packing up, and so I had to do everything the day before we left...haha but Kelcey, being the lovely, amazing friend that she is, offered some of her services to help me. Because she has moved so many times (as you may have read in this post) she told me she'd come help me! I was sooo glad! Although it was hard, I actually got my room majorly dejunkified! Not only do I procrastinate, I'm also a pack rat. So, I threw some of my stuff from middle school out finally! haha but anyways, the above pictures are me and Kourtni, and Kelcey while packing. Don't you think we all look delightfully studious with our classes on?!?

And here is Kelcey, probably contemplating what else could be gotten rid of!
And this jewel of a picture is from the car ride over! Lilly drove her jeep, and me and Megan were her passengers! We partied all [day] long...when me and Meg weren't sleeping...and Utah wasn't freaking us out too much! Anyways shout out to the Pyle's for letting mi madre y yo tag along!

I am offically the last seniorita left in good ol Moses Lake, and saying goodbye is harder than I thought.

January 2006: The first day I met Moses Lake

It was pitch black outside, and my family and I were driving on highway 17 finally making it to our destination. After a 13 hour drive, 6 people, cat and dog crammed in our car all the grumpyness and exhaution disappeared when we pulled in our new home town Moses Lake, Washington. We were extatic, and the first thing my mom said was, "Don't let the lights fool you . It looks alot smaller during the day."

The first night we slept in moses was at the Ameristay inn, by the bowling alley. I was texting my old neighbor from syracuse in our hotel room and he was bribing me with a new car if I convinced my family to moved back to stay with them. I was very very close to excepting. We were very close friends with our neighbors and hung out with them all the time. We still keep in touch and see them when we visit utah.

The next day i got to see my new home for the very first time. Since this was our 13th maybe 14th move... i loose track... I had held it together pretty good and didn't shed a tear the whole time we packed up our house and the long drive up here. i was fine untill we started walking around the new house. It was offical and it finally dawned on me that I wasn't going back, I wasn't going to be able to finish my second semester of high school as a sophmore, I wasn't going to see my friends for a very long time some of them maybe never again. Walking around my new room crying my mom thought it was because i hated it, but the real reason was because i was scared and sad to leave my past behind.

What i didn't know was that this new little town, that i had never heard of before in my entire life, was going to welcome me and my family with huge open arms and will always hold a place in my heart forever! I didn't know I was going to a school with tons of kids with my standards and beliefs. I didn't know that almost everyone in this town is related and if your not it still feels that way. I didn't know that my testimony would grow stronger because of the missionary experiances that i had and never would have had if i still lived in utah. i didn't know that my heavenly father placed me and my family here for a purpose to learn and grow. i didn't know i would have the time of my life!!!

I will never forget this town and all the people and all the experiances i had here. I know that im heading off to another place where im supose to be and it will change my life forever like moses lake did. My mom has this quote and it says "It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are." E. E. Cummings. I think that is very very true and im starting to realize that more and more every day. But i came up with another quote that is even more true, "It takes courage and FAITH to grow up and become who your Heavenly Father wants you to become."I know no matter what happens at college it will be perfectly fine cause i got someone watching out for me. Hopefully I'll make him proud. I love ya moses lake and Rexburg... here I come!!

Dear Moses Lake,

I don't even know where to begin. You've been the greatest town ever. So many important parts of my life have taken place within your city limits. I've only ever lived within those limits....and now as I move on, I realize how much I'll miss you. How much I'll miss your algae infected green lake, your awesome clock in the middle of the street, your painted garbage cans, your tons of friendly people wherever you go. I'll miss 10th ward, and the friendships which began due to living within your limits. I'll miss Sunday dinners, being able to see in every direction you look, your starry starry nights, your breathtaking sunsets(which aren't blocked by stupid mountains). I'll miss my family, and my amazingly awesome friends. I'll even miss your high school and seminary. I'll miss those good ol' days waking up at 5 for swimming, and working my bootay off. I'll miss your crisp fall nights. I'll miss getting lost all the time while driving within those lovely limits...but no worries I've already gotten lost here....

Thank you to all those who have been such wonderful influences on my life. Thank you for shaping me and making me who I am. Thanks for adding to my exerience in Moses Lake, and for teaching me the skills I will use to [try] and survive in this mountain filled area.

Love,

Ocean Beaches

Well, last week the family, the grandparents, and the brother's girlfriend had a nice vacation to Seaside, Oregon! It was sooo nice to get away from work, and in Mason's word's "reality"! This post is a picture documention of my experience there!
Here islovely sandcastle made with love by Hannah and Kortnee. We named our kingdom "ocean Beach" because on the way to Seaside from the airport, there were a ton of signs with arrows saying "ocean beaches" and it bothered me because there's no specific town specifially called "ocean beach" and so, we named out kingdom that!
UNO! We played uno quite a bit, and I loved this picture which I took! I dominated sometimes, and sometimes I didn't! And no...I didn't cheat! Due to the rainy weather, games were played quite often!
This is another kingdom which Kortnee and I created! This one's named the "fresh linen fortress"! We made a fort over our beds, but there weren't many spare blankets, so we used sheets, and chairs, and mops, and hair tyes...and TP to make the sign! It was my favorite! When I woke up in the morning, one of the mops had fallen down, and so the "fresh linen" was pretty much acting as a blanket right on top of me!
Here we are enjoying being rulers of out kingdom!
I'm an official adult, and I still play with my food! But how can you deny that this isn't a masterpiece?!? It should be displayed in some famous food artist's museum!
Seals! A few years ago some of the Morrison's friends took us to a place in Astoria where you can watch seal wars! They fight for spots on the dock, and can sometimes get a little violent! You can see some of their battle wounds when you're closer! ha and they also put on operas or something!
The Ballards were also there! We did a few things with them. One day Taylor, Kortnee, and I wandered downtown for a little while, bought some perfume from our friend named Hungry, and then we walked Taylor home! It was fun! And now we smell Heavenly!
We stopped on our way to take Tay home and rode some swings on the beach!
Kortnee, and Taylor enjoying the swings!
Me and a dead jellyfish...haha We found a few dead jelllyfish...and seagulls on the beach. I posed with one...but shamefully I must admit that the name of my friend has escaped my mind's memory!
We enjoyed some yummy sorbet from Costco in pineapple bowl dealios! Very yummy...especially while in the hot tub!
Some cool mirror in Canon beach in a toy store!
Kortnee and I did our nails! Mostly Kortnee did our nails! Aren't they cute! Thanks Kort!
We also did some masks!
And then ate the cucumbers?!? Ha ha not really...it's just a dillusion!
Here's a lovely shot of a lovely purse which I purchased from a lovely import store! I forgot where it was made...somewhere very lovely I'm sure!
We bought matching hats! And you're jealous...admit it!
And then we wore them to the beach!
My parents brought some tie dying stuff! Me mason, kortnee, and my dad all made shirts, and this is Kortnee and one of my hand's afterwards! I didn't get a picture of all of our shirts afterwords...but they were all sweet!
Mason loved "driving" the wagon to the beach...and none of us complained...who wants to drag a wagon through sand anyways?? Only Mason! He was doing 360s and all sorts of stuff with it!
Here Kortnee and Hannah are on the beach...looking as sexy as ever!!
And last but not least....here's a braclet I made! Thanks so much to Kortnee for teaching me the art of braclet making, and for being super patient with me, and fixing my MANY mistakes!!

All in all, I had a great time! I had lots of fun getting to know Kortnee...Dylan's girlfriend from N. Ogden, UT! Not only did I enjoy her company, her nail and braclet skills, but I loved her music taste! haha especially Tally hall!!

Honey is Money.

Good news! I finally got a job! I work for Grigg Apiaries, and I've worked there for about a week and a half. I've been waiting to post about it until I got a picture of where I work, but things are always so crazy out there and I always forget to. Grigg Apiaries is a bee/honey farm (I don't really know) and right now we're in the middle of honey season. So, we spend most of our days extracting the honey from the hives. I'm the only girl employee, so I am "Scratcher Girl" in the warehouse. I get the lovely job of standing next to the convor belt and scratch the wax off the frames so the honey will come out. It is THE most boring job in the world, I basically just stare at the back wall all day long! Some days if we are all out of honey we have to go out into the fields and pull honey. This is where my first picture comes in.. Everytime I tell someone that I work for a bee farm they ask "Do you have to wear that sweet suit thing??" The answer is sort of. We don't have a full on suit, but see that lovely hat plus net up there? Oh yeah, I get to wear that all day long in the heat. Yuck. So in the field I'm "Gas Board Girl". I go around wo the hives with these lids that have been sprayed with Bee Go, which gets them out of the hive. I guess it makes the bees really sick, which makes total sense, because if I get it anywhere near my eyes they start to water like crazy. So those are my two responsibilities out there. Plus helping clean up and filling barrels with honey. So all in all, it's a pretty nice job. It's always really hot and long, we work most days like eight or nine hours. But it's alright, I like it.

There is one major downfall to this job, and that is being around bees all the time. I hadn't been stung by a bee since I was like five before this job. And now I've been stung so many times I've lost count. They tell me that soon I won't even notice them, but I'm not seeing that happen anytime soon. Both these pictures are hard to tell what's going on. But the first one is my ankle, my boss jinxed me and asked if a bee had crawled up my leg yet, I told him no. And probably a minute later a bee crawled up my pants and stung my ankle! It is pretty swollen, and looks like a have a major cankle. I don't know why, but it's all bruised too. The next picture is of my swollen middle finger. I tried to help a guy out and get a bee off his collar, which I did. But I got stung in the process. It's pretty funny to see how I react to the stings. Some make me swell up, some make me have massive red, itchy rashes, and some don't do anything. Thank goodness for Benadryl! Well, I've rambled. But it's a hard job and I'm always way tired by the end of the day. But I got my first ever paycheck (which is what I'm holding in the first picture) and that made everything worth it! That's it for now!
Love, SL

PS.. I like this background whoever chose it... Good choice!
